This fall Violet started a school program called Classical Conversations. She goes every Monday from 9 am - noon. She has nine students in her class: five boys and four girls. She learns about geography, history, math, English, Latin, art, and science. She memorizes something each week from those six subjects. The school is held in a giant church building about 12 minutes away from our house. There is also a little nursery school that Luke and Ivy go to while Violet is in her class.

| This is Violet's second day of class. I forgot to snap a picture on the first day :). |
Here's some of Violet's memory work:

Violet is doing a math program called "Life of Fred." She LOVES it! She begs to do it every day. It is a fun, story-based approach that I have been quite pleased with. Keep math as silly and light as possible, I say :).
We also try to practice piano every day. Doesn't always happen, but she's coming along.
Luke is still our happy-go-lucky boy who loves teasing his sisters.

Recently he decided to give Ivy a haircut. Here's some of the carnage:
Poor Ivy lost a good chunk of her long, beautiful bangs. She didn't care, but I wailed and moped for days about it.
Fall also brings football season. Dan decided the kids needed some football education, so he took it upon himself to enlighten them.
The kids loved the cute little cow train. It went fast!
